Tiger Woods has taken the lead at the Australia Open in Sydney.
People who took flights to Sydney in order to watch the Australia Open will have seen Tiger Woods head forward to an early lead at the event.
The American player is currently nine under par overall, one shot ahead of Australian player Peter O’Malley.
However, even more impressive golf could be seen from Woods, as he said he felt he could have performed better.
“Even though I shot five under today it felt like it could easily have been eight or nine deep,” Woods said at a press conference.
If Woods goes on to win the event it could prove to be an important victory in his career, as he has not won a tournament since he scooped the top prize at the Australian Masters in 2009.
Woods may be planning to experience some of the city after taking flights to Sydney, with fellow American Kim Kardashian saying recently that she had enjoyed her stay in the city and had eaten Tim Tams.
