Those booking cheap flights to Sydney will find themselves in one of the world’s best cities, according to the opinions of travellers.
Sydney has made an appearance on a list of the top ten best cities to visit in the world.
The readers of Wanderlust travel magazine voted Sydney – with its iconic opera house, harbour and nearby beaches – as their 9th favourite place to visit in the world.
Travellers are attracted to Sydney whatever the weather, Wanderlust added, describing Sydney as a “perennial favourite”.
Meanwhile, in the category of best country, Japan topped the list 97 per cent while Namibia came closely behind with 96 per cent, followed by New Zealand, Bhutan, Syria and Peru.
Other titles bestowed during the awards include best travel guide series, which went to DK Eyewitness, and top travel TV show, a title claimed by BBC documentary Amazon.
In June, Sydney was voted the world’s friendliest city in a study undertaken GfK Roper Public Affairs and Media.
