Air New Zealand has announced it will be putting on more flights to keep up with demand from rugby fans.
People looking for flights to Sydney with Air New Zealand could soon have more options to choose from as the airline has announced it is putting on more services ahead of a sports event.
The carrier will be providing an additional two journeys from New Zealand ahead of the National Rugby League Grand Final, which will see the New Zealand Warriors take on the Manly Sea Eagles.
The group general manager for Australasia Bruce Parton said the airline’s social media sites have been busy with people looking to find a way of getting to Sydney to see the game.
“We don’t have the aircraft to be able to offer a third charter, but our team has been frantically busy today re-jigging our schedules and aircraft to make as many seats as we can,” Mr Parton added.
The news of extra flights to Sydney in time for the game comes after Qantas made a similar announcement yesterday (September 26th 2011) that it would also be increasing its flights in order to meet demand.
