Dubai is hosting multiple events throughout the month of March, catering to food lovers, adventure enthusiasts, music and arts lovers as well as sports fans. Here’s all that you need to know about these major events and festivals:

Taste of Dubai

A culinary adventure awaits at the Taste of Dubai, one of the biggest food, drink and music festivals to take place in the city. To be held from 7-9 March at the Dubai Media City, the festival will draw leading chefs, restaurants and eminent personalities from the food industry along with thousands of festival regulars. Amongst the prominent events scheduled for the festival will feature JIF & Hershey’s Big Baking Tent by ICCA, Al Ain Farms and Kibsons Cooking Challenge as well as Crate and Barrel Chefs’ Theatre. Besides, celebrity chefs such as Matt Preston, Masaharu Morimoto, Eric Lanlord, Simon Rimmer and Nick and Scott will add a touch of glamour to the festival affairs.

Sikka Art Fair

One of the largest celebrations of culture, heritage, arts and literature in the city, the Sikka Art Fair lures art-lovers from far and wide. The event features works of emerging and leading artists from the UAE through paintings, film screenings, music, talks and workshops. This flagship event aims to promote dialogue and generate awareness around emerging art scene in the city. Sikka Art Fair will take place from March 16-24 in  the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.

Dubai World Cup

The Dubai World Cup gives a global stage to the world’s best horse riders to come together and compete for the coveted title. This year, the final race of Dubai World Cup night – a tradition started in 1996, will be held on the 30th March 2019 at the Meydan Racecourse. Dubai World Cup is one of the world’s richest horse races and will carry the purse of $35 million this year. The event will have a total of nine races, consisting of eight Thoroughbred contests and one Purebred Arabian contest.

Run the Track

An event aimed to encourage runners of all abilities to get outdoors, Run the Track is held at the Dubai Autodrome, UAE’s first fully integrated motor sports facility, several times a year. Next to be held on 23rd March 2019, Run the Track gives the option of participating in either of the three different races, covering 10km, 5km and 3km respectively. Each of the participants is given a participation medal and the winners take home trophies across categories. A raffle is also organised at the end of the event, to give participants a chance to win prizes.

Stars of American Ballet

Stars of American Ballet is coming to the Dubai Opera on 8th of March with the mission of entertaining, educating and inspired the lovers of the art form through great dancing. Six key performances – Tarantella, Apollo Pas de Deux, White Swan Pas de Deux, After the Rain, Sing, Sing, Sing and Who Cares?- have been organised for the entertainment of the patrons. These include works of George Gershwin, George Balanchine, Unity Phelan, Brittany Pollack, Indiana Woodward, Daniel Ulbricht and Danielle Diniz amongst several other talented artists.
