Foods that are sure to be a hit with the little ones are offered, including gingerbread men and Dairylea Dunkers, which can be enjoyed while watching the latest films on the inflight entertainment systems.

All children are also given kids’ packs to keep them entertained on the flights, which contain a watch, reading book, baseball cap, pencil, magazine and sweets.

In addition, baby changing facilities are available on all the airline’s flights, as well as sky cots to get those under the age of one off to sleep more easily.

Dee Cooper, director of products and service for Virgin Atlantic, said: “In the last year alone the airline has carried over half a million children and infants and we pride ourselves in looking after and providing for all of our passengers whether they are toddlers, parents or a pensioners.”
