Virgin Atlantic was the only travel company to make it on to the CoolBrands list this year, it has been reported.

Virgin Atlantic has been named as one of the coolest brands in the UK.

The only travel company to appear on Superbrands’ CoolBrands list of 2009/10, Virgin Atlantic featured in the top 20, which suggests that it is still a hit among those looking for cheap flights to Australia, Dubai and other exotic locations.

According to Steve Ridgeway, chief executive of Virgin Atlantic, the result shows that the firm is “still red hot 25 years on”.

He added: “We are delighted to be the only travel company featuring in the top 20 CoolBrands. It is testament to Virgin Atlantic’s continuing widespread and international appeal.”

This news comes after Virgin Atlantic announced an incentive programme for its customers, which will see it give away free vouchers to be used in the department store John Lewis or supermarket Waitrose.

Travellers booking flights between September 5th and November 30th are eligible for the offer.
