A food event at the Noosa Jazz Festival could be a great way to spend an afternoon.

A lunch event held as part of the Noosa Jazz Festival in Australia is expected to attract some 800 guests, according to the director of the event.Rob Lockwood commented that last year’s Tastings on Hastings Street luncheon was such a success that it will now be made a permanent event at the festival.

Restaurants up and down the street offer their finest gourmet fare for the September 3rd event, which is set to kick off at 11:00 local time.

Those who are lucky enough to have booked flights to Australia and tickets to the festival will receive a luxurious two-course meal, served with a choice of crown lagers and wines.

And once the lunch has been cleared away, Mr Lockwood recommended that guests take the rest of the day to enjoy the delights of the jazz festival, including the Hastings Street Parade.

Australian celebrity chefs Matt Golinski of Ready Steady Cook and Matt ‘Outback Matty’ McKenzie, who was trained at Jamie Oliver’s fifteen restaurant in Melbourne, will also be on hand to show off their signature dishes.

McKenzie shot to fame during his appearance on the TV series Jamie’s Kitchen Australia and is the head chef at Old Government House in Queensland.
