Rub shoulders with the jet-set at the Audi Hamilton Island Race Week.
Travellers who have booked flights to Australia to travel this August, may wish to head to Hamilton Island for an A-list event.
Each year, the destination plays host to the Audi Hamilton Island Race Week – the largest offshore racing event in Australia’s calendar.
According to the chief executive officer of the island, people enjoy the event “because of the competitive racing in warm weather on a variety of courses”.
“It is very competitive sailing and the variety of the racing makes the event very fulfilling from a sportspersons perspective,” he added.
Other events taking place during the week include cocktail parties, fashion showcases and tennis clinics.
Hamilton Island Race Week begins on August 21st and a host of Australian chefs will also be attending to cater for celebrity dinners.
Located among the 74 Whitsunday Islands, Hamilton Island is situated on the Great Barrier Reef, close to the Queensland coastline.
It can be reached by flights from Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns and Melbourne as well as by boat.
