Today (July 15th) could be a good day for retailers as British holidaymakers flock to purchase holiday essentials before they head off, a new survey suggests.
According to M&S Money, most people delay their holiday shopping until ten days before they leave the country – and with the majority of schools breaking up around the weekend of the 26th, that means today could be when Brits flock to purchase bikinis and sunscreen.
The research also found that most people are prepared when it comes to currency, with 69 per cent saying they will buy it before they leave Britain.
“It’s encouraging that so many holidaymakers are buying their travel money in advance, as it’s always a good idea to buy before you fly and make the best of competitive exchange rates on the high street,” said Fraser Millar, M&S head of travel services.
Anyone still on the lookout for a holiday destination may wish to consider booking flights to Bangkok – earlier this month editor of Luxury Travel magazine Alyson Cook said Thailand is an excellent destination thanks to its mixture of beaches and activities.
