A survey into what Britons would most like to do before they die has revealed that travel is one of the top priorities.

The poll of over 1,500 people was carried out by Warner Home Video to mark the DVD release of its film The Bucket List.

This tells the tale of two men who discover they are terminally ill and decide to do everything they ever wanted before they die.

When the British public were asked where they would go if their time was almost up, visiting the Seven Wonders of the World ranked particularly high on the list.

The top three places to see were the Grand Canyon, the Egyptian pyramids and the Great Barrier Reef.

Meanwhile, Sydney ranked eighth, perhaps due to the amazing architecture at the Opera House.

Any Britons wanting to make at least one of their dream trips come true could consider booking flights to Cairns, since the Great Barrier Reef can be easily accessed from there.
