Those who may be worried about how their beach body will measure up on holiday should not resort to crash-dieting in order to lose weight quickly.
Those who may be worried about how their beach body will measure up on holiday should not resort to crash-dieting in order to lose weight quickly.
This is according to Harry Eastwood, presenter of TV series Cook Yourself Thin, who commented that such measures are unhealthy and can be counter-productive.
“If you are going on holiday to relax and you have crash dieted before going, you turn up and after four days you have put all the weight on again. That’s hardly relaxing – it’s actually much more stressful than if you hadn’t crash dieted in the first place,” he said.
Mr Eastwood added that holidaymakers looking to tone up should begin to eat sensible, low-fat food a few weeks before jetting off in order to lose weight without doing themselves any lasting damage.
A recent survey carried out by Total Greek Yoghurt discovered that almost three-quarters of British women say they feel self-conscious when stripping down to a swimsuit for the first time on their summer holiday.
Anyone looking for a holiday destination with great food could consider booking holidays to India, where delicacies include pani puri – small puffed bread eaten with spiced water and filled with spicy potato and chickpeas.
