Actor Michael Crawford has spoken about how moving to New Zealand has helped him to overcome his chronic fatigue.

Michael Crawford has spoken about how moving to live in Auckland has helped him to overcome an illness and find a new zest for life.

The stage performer, who was most recently seen in the West End playing the role of Oz in the Wizard of Oz, told the Daily Mail that moving to live in New Zealand has done wonders for his health.

He was diagnosed with ME several years ago but since moving overseas he has managed to recover his health and now takes each day as it comes.

Crawford said he now lives in a house close to the beach outside Auckland and has learned to enjoy going sailing and fishing, as well as taking up gardening again.

“If you want solitude you can find it here and people are very respectful of that,” Crawford told the newspaper.

Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand but is still very close to stunning scenery, offering the chance to enjoy spending time in the city and the countryside.
