Southall Travel, one of the UK’s leading travel companies celebrates another landmark achievement today, named in the 12th annual Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table awards for Britain’s leading mid-market private companies by sales.
Southall Travel has been announced in 17th position, making it the highest ranked privately owned travel agency and tour operator in the UK.
During the past financial year, the travel company’s turnover has grown by £71 million from £420 million to £491 Million.
Ranked 48th in 2015, Southall Travel’s 17th position in 2016 shows consistent and outstanding growth during the past 12 months.
Other companies in the industry sector include Lotus Group, ranked 41, Hays Travel (49th) and Audley Travel (178).
The Sunday Times Top Track 250 awards, ranks the next 250-biggest companies by sales, provided they meet the growth and profitability criteria. The 250 companies grew combined sales by 14% to £58.1bn, operating profits by 26% to £4.9bn, and staff by 11% to 354,000.
