How to safely take your laptop on a cheap holiday abroad.

Although cheap holidays to Dubai or Australia are traditionally all about soaking up some rays and taking a mental breather, the age of technology means that nowadays, people are just as likely to take their laptops with them as their families.

Bearing this in mind, one website has come up with some tips on how to make travelling with a laptop easier and less stressful.

According to SuccessfulMeetings.com, whether you are using it or not, keep your laptop close by during a flight, as placing it in the overhead bin may see it being knocked around and even damaged.

“Store it under the seat in front of you, where it’s always in sight,” it recommends.

When trying to power your laptop in transit, it adds, an all-in-one DC auto-air power adapter may be the most useful to carry – something that can be picked up from electronic outlets.

To ensure you keep your precious bit of kit safe from being lost or misplaced, the website also recommends marking it before setting off.

It states: “Try taping a business card to the bottom of your laptop; if it gets lost or stolen and found, you can identify it as yours.”

Other tips offered include investing in a privacy screen filter to prevent people around you from reading what you are typing and bringing an extra battery along.

These hints come after a survey conducted by silicon.com found that one-third of respondents said they check their work emails at least once per day while on holiday.
