Earnslaw Park
Queenstown Winter Festival will start its 10-day journey from Earnslaw Park with a dazzling event called ‘American Express Opening Party and Fireworks.’ On 20th, 21st, 26th and 27th, this park will host Creative Queenstown Arts & Craft Market, where you can explore and buy the artworks of South Island artists. The park is also the venue for the Hits 90.4 Downtown Day (24th June) and DB Export Dog Barking (25th June) – two of the quirkiest events in the festival.
Village Green
This centrally located public space is the venue for the American Express Winter Wonderland Ice Rink, a daily event which is sure to be a hit among families. Ice skating will be the prime highlight here but other attractions like fairy lights and cute penguins are also worth mentioning. Whether you are a novice or a professional, don your skates and hit the rink to welcome winters in New Zealand, the local way.
Coronet Park
The much loved Kiwi Mountain is a world renowned ski resort where you get to enjoy winter sports. Mountain Bikes on Snow will be the first event at Coronet Park. If you want to experience the adventure of wheeling through snow, visit on 20th June. DB Export Dog Derby (25th June) is the festival’s oldest event. Several farmers bring their dogs to compete in this popular dog race. Also, don’t miss out on the thrilling experience of night skiing at Coronet Park on 26th June.
The Remarkables
Queenstown Winter Festival is incomplete without skiing and snowboarding! For the best skiing action, plan a day out at this mountain range on 28th June.
