A new 200-room luxury resort is to be launched close to Laguna Village and Bang Tao Beach in Phuket, Thailand.

A new 200-room luxury resort is to be launched close to Laguna Village and Bang Tao Beach in Phuket, Thailand.

Castlewood Hotels and Resorts has confirmed that the new project will be managed by its in-house hospitality brand – 8over8.

The new venture could appeal to those taking flights to Thailand who are looking for luxury accommodation during their stay, with the development also including a private rooftop penthouse suite.

Chris Comer, Castlewood Group’s managing director for South East Asia, explained that the company had looked at a number of possible locations for the hotel but felt Thailand offered the best option.

He added: “One factor was the selection of the right location; this is fuelled by the three key factors, existing realistic occupancy rates, existing good average daily room rates and a solid reason for massive immediate growth in demand for the area… Laguna Phuket, Thailand ticked all of those boxes.”

It is expected that the new hotel could be open for guests next year.
