For people who may have been feeling under pressure at work lately, a holiday to Thailand and the island of Koh Chang in particular could be the ideal solution.

Marianne MacDonald, writing for This is London, said she recently stayed at the Aiyapura resort – approximately 200 miles south-east of Bangkok – and found it to be “exquisite”.

The resort features a luxury spa where guests can have treatments including Thai massage and acupuncture, as well as sessions designed to tackle problems such as self-esteem issues.

Ms MacDonald remarked: “The Aiyapura resort spills down a jungle-covered hill to the sea and is festooned with orchids. The view across the lagoon to humped green islands is spectacular.”

However, for the more energetic, kayaking, sailing and biking are all available, with a bar serving plenty of cocktails ready for relaxing in afterwards.

Earlier this month, Frances Tuke of the Association of British Travel Agents said that British people become more productive at work before their holidays, thanks to ‘sunticipation’.
