Holidays to Thailand are proving popular with British travellers this summer, ranking in the top five best-selling last minute destinations, a holiday company has reported.

“There has been a definite trend towards late bookings this year, with most long-haul destinations significantly outperforming their sales for the past couple of years,” said Hayes & Jarvis head of commercial, Niel Alobaidi.
He went on to say that the destination was “unbeatable value at the moment” and was always competitive.

Mr Alobaidi continued that holidays to Thailand were selling very strongly and he reported a more than 50 per cent increase in bookings to the south-east Asian destination over the past few weeks.

Travellers flying to Bangkok in June may wish to head to one of the many events taking place across Thailand.

Each year, for a whole month in June, locals celebrate a popular home-grown fruit during the Pineapple Festival, according to Differentasia.com.

There will be plenty of opportunity to taste the sweet treat and festivities will also include a search for Miss Pineapple.
