As the nights close in and the temperature drops in Britain, one travel expert has suggested taking holidays in Thailand to escape the winter blues.
For travellers looking to recapture that summer feeling and go to a festival this winter, booking flights to Thailand could be the answer.
James Bainbridge, author of A Year of Festivals, has offered his tips on the best places to go to escape the British winter and take in some festival fun along the way.
One of his top recommendations for the Christmas period is Thailand for its full moon parties.
He said: “They are reaching a peak in the next couple of months, so if you fancy skipping Christmas and the bad weather then there are much worse places to be than a beach in Thailand for a few months.”
Full moon parties are held on the island of Koh Phangan on the east coast of Thailand.
The celebrations attract between 10,000 to 30,000 people each month, where revellers can enjoy a wide range of music played from dusk till dawn on the beach of Haad Rin.
