This luxury train ride could capture the imagination of people booking holidays to India.
Those booking flights to Delhi or Mumbai could be interested to know about the new luxury train set to travel between the two cities.
The ‘Indian Maharaja – Deccan Odyssey’ will take passengers on an eight-day journey, taking in some of the country’s heritage and iconic landmarks along the way.
From the Taj Mahal, which stands on the banks of the river Yamuna in Agra, to the Ajanta caves where visitors can admire the examples of ancient Buddhist, Hindu and Jain religious art, travellers will be able to soak up the country’s heritage.
Stops along the way will allow passengers to explore as they travel. Excursions such as a safari through the Ranthambore National Park and a day trip to the ‘City of Lakes’ are among the highlights.
Every train journey will start or finish with a tour of Delhi, offering travellers the opportunity to discover both the old and new districts of the city.
The train itself has 21 carriages with 11 passenger cars and also boasts its own spa carriage complete with steam bath in addition to a lounge and bar and also a business centre.
