The renowned Mysore Dasara 2012 is all set to take place from 16 to 24 October. Authorities are hopeful of attracting visitors to look for flights to India from destinations like UK, Canada, Russia and United States to witness this gala event.

Tourism authorities expect to attract more foreign tourists on flights to India to witness Mysore’s Dasara festivities, this year.

Authorities plan to launch special website dedicated to Dasara 2012 festivities. The website will be further linked to related news portals. The website will be uniquely designed to draw tourists to look for flights from Canada, Russia, United Kingdom, United States, the West Asian region and European Union countries.

The event will be inaugurated on 16th October and will last till 24th October. The countdown to the festival begins from 7th September when a herd of elephants will commence trip to Mysore, the city of palaces, from the elephant camp at Veernahosahalli.

Numerous cultural programs, food fare, adventure sports, kite festival, flower show and scores of other interesting activities will be organized throughout the city to entertain the visitors on India-bound flights connecting to the nearest international airport of Bangalore.

The authorities are also making prominent efforts to improve the infrastructure to delight visitors on flights to India with all the possible facilities.

The world famous Dasara is one of the grandest festivals of South India. The festivities last for 10 days every year, usually during late September or early October, in the city of Mysore, promising a gala time to festival goers on flights to the country.
