The culture and history of Hyderabad is to be celebrated as part of a special Heritage Week.
The culture of Hyderabad is to be honoured as the city has announced it is to host a special Heritage Week.
In February, Hyderabad was awarded Best Heritage City by the Annual Tourism Award Festival, which celebrates the very best attractions and developments in the Indian tourism sector.
As a result of picking up this prize, the city’s tourism authority has announced plans to establish a specially-designated week to celebrate all of the remarkable sights and attractions on offer.
G Kishan Rao, consultant at the tourism department, said: “This is the first time the government has initiated such a programme. Hyderabad has a rich history that has been influenced not just by one dynasty, but by many others.”
The exact dates when the event will take place this year have not yet been formally announced, but it is planned that the celebration of the city’s unique past will become an annual event.
