Locals and tourists alike have enjoyed the World Tourism Day celebration’s in Delhi.

India’s accommodating attitude and propensity to include foreigners in its celebrations was demonstrated in Delhi last week when the city held its World Tourism Day festivities.

Sudhir Sobti, spokesperson for Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation, said the events were vibrant and highlighted the city’s rich cultural heritage in a very positive way.

“We really had a great time and the foreign tourists enjoyed it too. Delhi is now at par with other world class cities [and offers] world class facilities to the tourists,” he told the Deccan Herald.

Although the celebrations are now over, there is still plenty on offer to those booking flights to Delhi.

The city’s Garden of Five Senses was a focal point during World Tourism Day, but the 20-acre park is open all throughout the year, while the Red Fort remains one of Delhi’s most popular sites.
