Dubai International Airport continues to see passenger numbers increase.
Dubai continues to be one of the top destinations for both overseas business travellers and holidaymakers.
According to the latest statistics from the local aviation authority, Dubai International Airport – the world’s fourth busiest – surpassed the 4.5 million visitors mark for the seventh time this year in August.
The figure swelled by 20 per cent from the same month in 2011 to reach 4,847,152 this August, while year to date passenger numbers reached 37,784,946 – up 13.4 per cent.
Paul Griffiths, chief executive officer at Dubai Airports, said the emirate had had another successful summer.
He added: “The non-stop growth is a testament to Dubai’s attraction to tourists and businesses around the world. Providing top-flight infrastructure to accommodate that growth is another of Dubai’s key strengths.”
The state is home to a number of world class attractions in the coming weeks, including the GITEX Shopper 2012 expo and the Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup 2012.
