Igloofest, Montreal

Electronic music fires euphoria during the weekends of January at the Old Port of Montreal, with tens of thousands of people attending the winter rave. A-Trak, Tiga and Diplo are some of the acts performed at the festival along with many more forms and styles. Québec City Winter Carnival

The world famous Québec Winter Carnival commences on the last weekend of January and continues for the next 17 days, making Québec City a hotspot for tourists and natives alike. The festival has been one of the most important highlights of the city since 1894, giving the residents and the visitors a chance to be merry and celebrate the snowy Canadian winter. This season, the carnival will start on the 29th of January and continue till Valentines’ Day.

Winterlude, Ottawa

Winterlude is one of the most famous annual winter celebrations in Canada. The celebrations are held in Ottawa in the first 3 weekends of February. Most of the events that take place during this time are free and open to all. Winterlude involves skating on the Rideau Canal, which freezes in winter making it the world’s largest skating rink. The events are held mostly along the canal and people from all around the world come to witness the fun and frolic during the holiday season. This season, Winterlude will commence on 29th January, 2016 and come to an end on 16th of February, 2016.
