The refurbishment of a city centre hotel could be the first step in developing Sydney’s boutique hotel scene.Formerly known as Central Park, 8Hotels has re-launched the Park8 Hotel to appeal to travellers looking for upmarket and luxury accommodation during their stay in the city.

The revamp means the Park8 Hotel now has 36 rooms and loft apartments with bathrooms equipped with rain showers and wireless broadband access.

In the heart of Sydney’s business district, the hotel could also appeal to those taking flights to Sydney for business or leisure reasons.

Paul Fischma, chief executive officer of 8Hotels, said: “Park8 has afforded us the ability to create a spectacular product and fill a niche in the Sydney CBD market with large rooms, an exceptional location, our signature design and all with a value driven price.”

The company also has a number of boutique hotels in the centre of Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane.
