The authors set to appear at this year’s Sydney Writer’s Festival have been named by the organisers.

The line up of impressive Australian talent has been announced for this year’s Sydney Writer’s Festival.

The organisers of the event have announced the local names attending will include Frank Moorehouse, Anita Heiss and Elliot Perlman.

Author of The Virgin Suicides Jeffrey Eugenides will also be attending to discuss his works.

Taking place between May 14th to 20th, this year’s festival will have the theme of the public and the private and artistic developer Chip Rolley said the showcase would be a memorable one.

Held in a number of venues around the city, the main showcases will be taking place at Walsh Bay.

“We are proud this year to bring you a programme that contains a galaxy of writers who will excite, move, inspire and provoke,” Mr Rolley said.

A number of political events will also be held to discuss the current state of the Australian political system.
