Although it may seem daunting, those with only a week to spare can still have an excellent holiday in Sydney and have plenty of real Australian experiences.
Although it may seem daunting, those with only a week to spare can still have an excellent holiday in Sydney and have plenty of real Australian experiences.
Adrian Bridge of the Telegraph recently proved this as he jetted off down under, choosing Sydney because it offers plenty to do in a relatively small area.
Firstly, for those hell-bent on seeing Australian animals, kangaroos can be spotted hopping around the city suburbs, but a trip to Taronga Zoo will offer a better chance of seeing them up close, as well as wallabies, koalas and all the other animals seen on Neighbours.
Secondly, Sydney is a great destination for surfing.
“You really don’t need to go any further than Sydney to experience the exhilaration of one of the country’s great national pastimes,” said Mr Bridge, recommending a trip to Bondi Beach.
There is also the chance to tour the Sydney Opera House, take a tour from an Aborigine and learn to cook the perfect barbecue at the Sydney Seafood School, Mr Bridge wrote.
Anyone keen on a whistle-stop tour of Sydney can get there via flights from Virgin Atlantic.
