A female-only floor in a Brisbane hotel treats guests to organic beauty products, scented candles and fresh flowers
Women taking flights to Australia as part of a solo backpacking trip can relax in style and safety at the newly opened female-only floor at a Brisbane hotel.The Best Western Portal Hotel has launched the first ever ladies-only floor in Australia and the rooms are packed with scented candles, waffle robes, fresh flowers, organic beauty products, hair straighteners and yoga mats.
Explaining the idea behind the floor, hotel owner Georgie Woods said: “These days, women account for around 40 percent of Australia’s business travellers – that’s a lot of ladies travelling alone, often in unfamiliar cities without a good working knowledge of the area.”
Visitors to Brisbane may want to check out the city’s koala bear sanctuary, the Low Pine, one of the area’s most popular tourist attractions.
As well as koalas, visitors can see wombats and birds of prey and enjoy sheepdog and farmer shows there.
