Passengers in economy class on Delta Airlines flights can choose a more comfortable seat upgrade from June onwards.

Transatlantic passengers catching flights with Delta Airlines are due to be offered a more comfortable seating option, it has been announced.

New ‘economy comfort’ seat upgrades will be available for a price of $80 to $140 (£50 to £99) on board Delta flights, Travel Mole reports.

Furthermore, diamond and platinum members of the airline’s frequent flyer programme will be able to get this upgrade for free, while gold and silver members will be offered these seats at a discounted rate.

Passengers looking to stretch their legs will be glad to learn that the new seats offer four inches more legroom and a 50 per cent greater recline – perfect for relaxing on a long-haul flight.

Complimentary drinks will be served to flyers in these new seats, which will be offered from next month onwards.

Delta Airlines operates a range of routes for long-haul travellers including flights to Mumbai from Europe and flights from the UK to Australia via the USA.
