Penguins have taken residence in their new home at Perth Zoo.
This month marks the return of penguins to Perth Zoo, following an extensive renovation of their home.
The birds are one of the zoo’s most popular attractions and will now be on show once more, after its Australian Wetlands and Penguin Plunge areas were improved.
Their return to the zoo was marked by none other than Australia’s environment minister Bill Marmion, who welcomed them to their new home and encouraged visitors to check out their improved facilities.
“During construction, the penguins spent several months at Melbourne Zoo where they were housed in a spare exhibit. The penguins are a favourite at Perth Zoo and I am sure visitors will welcome their return,” he said.
You will be able to check out plenty of other great animals at Perth Zoo, including giraffes, orangutans, tigers, cheetahs, elephants and bears, among dozens of others.
The zoo boasts animals from continents all over the world. Some of its Australian inhabitants are the dingo, emu, koala and Tasmanian devil.
