Australia voted top dream destination

Sydney 10th placed go-to style and design capital

Australia has been voted the top dream destination in the world by readers of a US travel magazine.

The land down under pipped Italy and its neighbour New Zealand to the top spot in Virtuoso Life’s annual Travel Dreams survey.

Following up behind these were South Africa, French Polynesia, Antarctica, Greece, France, Ireland and China, which rounded out the top ten.

The world renowned city of Sydney also made the top of the world’s best go-to style and design capitals – a category in which Paris took the first place. With incredible architecture, such as the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, it is not surprising.

However, Sydney is by no means the only incredible city in Australia – with Melbourne, Perth and Canberra all offering fantastic experiences.

Away from the built-up areas, Australia has hundreds of incredible beaches, untouched expanses inhabited by unique creatures such as the koala and fabulous weather.
