Those on cheap holidays in Australia will find that the country is full of warm and welcoming people, according to one British mum on her gap year abroad.
Those who have booked their cheap flights to Australia will find that a warm welcome awaits them when they finally arrive in the land down under.
This is according to Jo Thompson, a British mum who has been travelling around the world on a gap year and reporting her experiences back to the Telegraph.
She has now arrived in Australia, a country that she has visited before, but is her “favourite” destination, she explained.
“I love the friendliness of the people and being addressed as ‘mate’. I love the people, heat and space,” Ms Thompson explained.
However, there is a bittersweet tinge to her trip this time around, she adds, as this is the final leg of her gap year abroad, she added.
Last month, Lonely Planet launched the 15th edition of its Australia guide, which lauded the diversity of the destination’s landscapes – which were formed by extreme weather conditions, including floods, drought and fires.
