Britons planning a getaway this summer are being urged to plan ahead and book their holiday in advance, Holiday Extras has advised.
Mike Whiting, managing editor of the company, said: “Booking in advance can offer the best rates, so start to think about your holiday a few months ahead – start now and there’s still time to budget for a break in the late summer sun.”
Research by the firm revealed a family of four believe they will spend up to £50 per person per day in holiday spending money – which would total £2,800 for a fortnight’s break.
Mr Whiting advised travellers to make sure they take all of their costs into account when booking a holiday so they can stick to their budget and search out a good deal.
Accommodation, flights, insurance and spending money were all items people need to consider, he added.
Travellers heading on a holiday to South Africa between July 30th and August 2nd may wish to attend the Stellenbosch Wine Festival, which is within easy reach for travellers flying to Cape Town.
