Virgin Australia has announced it is to offer more flights to Mackay airport.
Travellers taking flights to Australia with Virgin Australia could soon be able to head on to Mackay more easily.
The operator has announced it is making enhancements to its service to the terminal, with extra trips to take place each week between Mackay and Brisbane.
In addition, the carrier will also add its first lounge to Mackay airport.
Tickets for the journey have gone on sale today (December 21st 2011) for the flights, which begin on March 5th 2012, when 78 journeys a week will be offered between Mackay and Brisbane.
“With the addition of the extra Mackay-Brisbane service, Virgin Australia now offers two more return daily services than any other airline on this route,” said group executive of product and guest services Martin Daley.
Travellers in future who take flights to Australia with the carrier could also be doing their bit to help the environment, as it is offering its support to a company which is looking to covert biomass into aviation fuel.
