Etihad Airways has started non-stop daily flights between UAE’s Abu Dhabi and USA’s Washington, D.C., offering direct air link two capitals to those looking for tickets on the route. New flights to the USA have been initiated keeping in mind the strong demand for tickets for government and business travel on the route. There has been increasing demand for tickets on the sector by the leisure vacationers as well.

“Government and corporate customers in both markets have given us strong indication that the Abu Dhabi – Washington route can support a daily service from day one,” James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, was quoted in airline’s press release. Mr Hogan said that the carrier has committed 3,360 seats per week on this new USA service and the demand for tickets on the route as reflected by forward bookings is “very encouraging in both directions.”

Etihad Airways also announced the launch of a premium lounge this week in Terminal A at Washington Dulles International Airport to offer better services to those booking tickets for Diamond First and Pearl Business Class.

Flight EY131 will depart Abu Dhabi International Airport at 10:00 am each day for USA’s capital. After New York, Chicago and Toronto, Washington, D.C. would be fourth North American destination for the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates.

For new flights to the USA, the carrier would deploy ultra-long range Airbus A340-500 aircraft that can seat 240 passengers in three-class cabin class, offering wide tickets option to different kinds of fliers.
