Thailand is one of the top holiday destinations in the world, one foreign currency organisation has asserted.
More and more people are booking flights to Thailand to take advantage of the country’s value for money, one travel company has stated.
According to the Post Office Travel Money, the Thai baht has reached tenth place in its list of the 20 bestselling currencies of last year, indicating that the country is one of the world’s most popular destinations.
The organisation revealed that sales of Thai baht increased by 15 per cent in 2009.
Other locations that performed well in terms of currency sales include South Africa and Croatia, the Post Office noted.
Hosting the World Cup this summer is likely to offer a boost to tourism in South Africa, with thousands of football fans set to jet off to the country to enjoy the matches in June.
There is more good news for travellers this year, with the company also explaining that the pound is stronger than it was in 2009, meaning tourists can look forward to getting more for their money with many of the top-selling currencies.
