Holidays to Thailand offer the best value for money for travellers headed to the Asia Pacific region, a new report has revealed.

An online consumer survey of 5,000 global respondents carried out by CNN International found that Thailand was perceived to be the best value resort for a holiday, followed by China and then India.

The research also indicated more people were planning on taking a holiday in the next 12 months than in 2008 and 58 per cent of travellers were willing to pay more to travel to the Asia Pacific region with their preferred airline.

Of those who voted in the poll, some 71 per cent of people fly to Thailand and other long-haul destinations for leisure, taking an average of three holidays a year and taking 14 days off to travel.

People taking a holiday in Thailand this month may wish to head to the International Comedy Festival taking place in Bangkok from June 10th to 16th.
