A new era in indulgent travel took off yesterday (June 1st) as Emirates’ new luxury flight to Bangkok made its maiden voyage, the airline reported.

The A380 Emirates service – a super jumbo – will now offer a daily flight to the Thai capital.

According to the carrier, the A380 has 35 per cent more seats than its closest equivalent and is the most “environmentally-advanced” commercial aeroplane in service in the world’s skies.

Emirates claims it offers “better fuel economy than most hybrid passenger cars”, creating half as much noise during take off as other aircraft and uses 20 per cent less fuel per passenger than the next largest aircraft currently in service.

“We are delighted Emirates selected Bangkok as the first Far East gateway for its revolutionary A380 product,” said Chaisak Angkasuwan, deputy permanent secretary of the ministry of transport in Thailand.

The flight offers passengers flying to Thailand 14 first class private suites, 399 economy seats and 76 business class seats.

Brits heading on a holiday to Bangkok may wish to attend the world comedy film festival running from June 10th to 16th.
