Suvarnabhumi Airport will get its own police station, it has been reported.
Holidaymakers disembarking their cheap flights to Thailand at Suvarnabhumi Airport may be pleased to learn that authorities are continuing with their efforts to make the hub safer.
According to reports, the airport is set to receive its own police station as part of operations aimed at making it a more secure place for visitors.
The measures will help to deter unauthorised traders, tour guides and taxi drivers, as well as baggage thieves, baggage theft and scammers targeting tourists at the busy air base.
Airports of Thailand president Serirat Prasutanond explained: “If we have a Suvarnabhumi police station to take charge of the airport, bad people roaming around should finally disappear.”
Other initiatives implemented at Suvarnabhumi in recent times include the commissioning of a team of police officers, who arrested 750 unlicensed taxi drivers and 405 tour guides in the space of a month, the Bangkok Post reported.
