There is a selection of delicious food on offer at this year’s Phuket Vegetarian Festival.

Travellers on flights to Phuket in the autumn could have the chance to sample some amazing dishes during their stay at the Phuket Vegetarian Festival.

Taking place from September 27th to October 5th 2011, the festival coincides with the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar and is strictly observed by people of Chinese ancestry in Thailand as they abstain from all animal products for the duration.

As well as there being a range of foods to try, there are also parades between the shrines around the city, which offer an amazing opportunity to experience one of Phuket’s most important cultural events.

It is also noted for its drumming performances, as they are believed to ward off evil spirits, as well as magnificent fireworks displays each evening.

Those on flights to Phuket who fall in love with the city and decide to buy a property there may not be alone, as it has been reported that the number of overseas buyers is on the increase.
