A new restaurant in Pattaya could provide the perfect tonic for English holidaymakers missing the tastes of home.
Those who are travelling in Thailand and find themselves missing home may wish to stop in at a new restaurant in Pattaya which offers a mixture of Thai and western cuisine.
According to the Pattaya Daily News, the fare at the Little Wales Restaurant and Bar includes a Thai menu designed specifically with western diners in mind – including traditional dishes prepared with a minimal amount of spicy herbs.
“Their emphasis on Thai foods is to give western diners a chance to try Thai food dishes that they will find to be pleasant on their taste buds,” the newspaper reported.
Homesick holidaymakers will find the facility also offers a full English breakfast in the morning, sandwiches at lunchtime and a range of condiments familiar to UK diners, including pickled onions and English mustard.
Canadian food critic John Gilchrist noted recently in the Calgary Herald that the cuisine of north Thailand may also be easier on the palate for diners who are less keen on spicy food.
He commented that meals from this region tend to be less spicy and sweet than food found elsewhere in the country.
