Free Wi-Fi, comfortable seats and new computers are some of the added extras people on cheap flights to Bangkok Airport will find upon their arrival, it has been reported.
Following news that security operations are being carried out to clear Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport of illegal tour guides and taxi drivers, the airport is also being improved in other ways, it has emerged.
Not only are authorities working to improve safety at the major hub, but smaller improvements are also taking place, such as the upholstering of hard metal seats and the installation of free Wi-Fi for passengers, reports the Associated Press.
The airport also aims to have 126 computer terminals with free internet access unveiled by the end of the month for those travellers who do not have laptops.
According to a report from the Bangkok Post last week, a team of security experts has arrested 750 unlicensed taxi drivers and 405 unauthorised tour guides at the hub over the last month.
Suvarnabhumi Airport has the facilities to handle 76 flight operations every hour and currently has two runways, although there are plans to expand this to four over the coming years.
