Maldivian, the flag carrier of Maldives is planning to start services from northern atolls – Gaafu Alif, Gaafu Dhaalu and Fuvahmulah to Colombo in a bid to provide connectivity to fliers seeking tickets aboard flights.
The national carrier of Maldives, Maldivian is looking forward to begin flights from three northern atolls of Maldives to Colombo from August in a bid to offer seamless connectivity and added tickets for flights operating between Maldives and Sri Lanka www.southalltravel.co.uk/sri-lanka/.
Maldivian is going to provide wide connectivity and tickets for services scheduled to run from three northern atolls – Gaafu Alif, Gaafu Dhaalu and Fuvahmulah. It will operate flights from Addu International Airport, Seenu Gan to Colombo.
According to the Managing Director of Island Aviation Services, the airline is mulling to start operations from 7 August 2013. Before commencing operations on the new route to Colombo, it is also contemplating to sign a code sharing and international agreement with Sri Lankan Airlines.
He also revealed that Sri Lankan airlines have also proposed to offer tickets on services running between Gan, Addu to Colombo. However, the dates are yet not decided.
Maldives and Sri Lanka are two of the most popular Indian Ocean destinations renowned for spectacular beaches and unparalleled lushness.
