Headquartered at Dubai International Airport, Emirates is introducing extra services to Sri Lankan capital from 30th June 2013, offering added option for business as well as leisure travellers who seek tickets aboard flights running on the sector.

Dubai based Emirates is all set to increase capacity from Dubai to Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka in order to cater to the increasing demands for tickets on flights operating on the route.

The carrier is going to offer tickets for three more services per week from 30th June 2013, which will run between Dubai and Colombo on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays. The addition will increase the number of flights to four each day on those days, taking the total count of weekly flights to 31.

Emirates will deploy Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in two class configuration. It will contribute to added tickets option for 126 Business and 1,158 Economy Class seats each way per week on the route.

Passengers reserving tickets for flights operating on the sector can take advantage of carrier’s award-winning ice entertainment system with up to 1,400 channels, on-demand entertainment options including movies, TV programmes, games, audio books and music from across the globe.

In addition, they can also enjoy extra baggage allowance of 30kg in Economy and 40 kg in Business Class. The additional flights will allow more opportunities for members of the Skywards frequent flyer programme. All in all, it is expected that the increased capacity would spell extra tickets, benefits and seamless connection for both business as well as leisure travellers who seek tickets for flying on the route.

According to the schedule, the additional Dubai – Colombo flight EK 654 will depart Dubai at 0645 hrs and arrive in Colombo at 1245 hrs. The return flight, EK 655 will depart Colombo at 1410 hrs and arrive in Dubai at 1655 hrs.
