The sights and sounds of Cape Town can be experienced by taking part in the Big Walk.

Travellers on flights to Cape Town who like to go out for a stroll could enjoy taking part in this year’s Big Walk.

Held annually in the city, the event takes place on November 13th this year and encourages people to get out and about, taking part in walks of various lengths around the city.

Starting off with a gentle five km walk, the most energetic and expert walkers can take in some of the incredible scenes in and around the city on an 80 km route.

But those who want to try out the longest trail have to be prepared for an early start, as the event begins at 03:45 local time and continues long into the afternoon.

People with small children can still give it a go by taking part in the Little Big Walk, which has been devised especially for kids aged between two and seven years old.

Holidaymakers taking flights to Cape Town next month could spot some royal visitors, as Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall will be visiting the city.
