Classic raspy male singers complemented by the booming vocals of music’s divas on show for music performance.

Travellers on cheap flights to Johannesburg looking for a bit of entertainment should check out Rough Diamonds and Divas.

A tribute to greats like Joe Cocker, Neil Diamond, Tina Turner, Bonnie Tyler and Cher – to name but a few – the show is an exploration of “the gritty voiced, rough and raspy rockers and the dark and dangerous divas” that amazed the world with their fantastic voices and performances.

Produced by Barnyard Theatre Production and directed by Adrian Poulsen, the show recreates the sights and sounds with a superb ten-piece cast at the helm.

Expect performers to Bonnie Tyler to be belting out the huge anthems of Bonnie Tyler’s Holding Out For a Hero and Total Eclipse of the Heart and the iconic Bang Bang from Cher.

Meanwhile, performers acting as the rough diamond male legends includes a rendition of Louis Armstrong rasping all over What a Wonderful World that will get you swaying your hips and Neil Diamond captivating your hearts with Sweet Carolina.

And for good measure there are a couple of duets with performers bringing together the spirit of Dolly Parton and Diamond singing You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling with perfect heartbreak.

The show runs till July 10th 2011.
