People considering taking a ten-day holiday to make the most of their annual leave may want to think about booking flights to South Africa, it has been asserted.
Holidays to South Africa are a good option for people heading off for a ten-day -rather than a two-week – break, according to one travel specialist.
Black Tomato’s Sally Kirby commented that people are increasingly taking ten-day holidays, where they fly out on a Friday evening and return the following Sunday, in order to make the most of their annual leave.
She noted that South Africa is a popular choice for those who are short of time: “It works fine for Africa as [there is] no big time difference and you can easily do a varied itinerary.”
Ms Kirby suggested spending two nights in Cape Town before heading off on a safari for a few days and spending the final four nights at a beach resort.
Additionally, many properties are currently offering a four-night stay for the price of three nights, allowing travellers to keep their costs down, she said.
Research released earlier this month by Thomson and First Choice found that the trend for ten or 11-night holidays is set to continue in 2010.
The company claimed that budgetary and leave restraints are forcing consumers to cut the length of their trips.
