A new survey of more than 1,600 air travellers has found Singapore Airlines to have the best in-flight meals.

The poll, carried out by SeatGuru, identified getting a full meal as the most-valued “comfort feature” provided by a carrier.

A total of 19 per cent of respondents ranked Singapore Airlines top for food, while British Airways, Air France and Continental were also applauded for their culinary offerings.

Singapore Airlines also received top honours for its polite flight attendants, while British Airways ranked a close second, the survey found.

Earlier this month, Singapore Airlines announced it will add the Airbus A380 – the world’s largest passenger aircraft – to its Singapore-Hong Kong route from July 2009, increasing existing seat capacity by ten per cent.

Hong Kong is the fifth international destination to be added since the airline began operating the A380 in 1997. Sydney, London, Paris and Tokyo are also destinations serviced by the A380 aircraft.
