People who are visiting New Zealand for the first time have been advised to make sure they spend time in both its rural and urban locations.
Travellers taking cheap flights to New Zealand have been advised to make sure they spend time in both the urban and rural locations the country has to offer.
Charles Rawlings-Way, author of Lonely Planet’s New Zealand guidebook, explained that Auckland is home to great restaurants, shops and nightlife, while Wellington has a much more alternative arts scene and cafe culture.
“On the wild side, take a ‘tramp’ (hike, or bushwalk) into the wilderness [with] remote beaches, snow-capped mountains, thundering river gorges – they’re all here,” Mr Rawlings-Way said.
He also urged a trip to Christchurch, which still has a lot to offer as it recovers from the earthquake earlier this year, while Rotorua offers the chance to learn more about the indigenous Maori culture.
Some people on cheap flights to New Zealand could be in search of excitement, as a study by iExplore found that two-thirds of travellers look for something thrilling to do which distracts them from the stresses at home.
